Course overview
This 2D CAD – Computer Aided Design level 3 award is designed for those with previous experience of 2D Computer Aided Design, who wish to gain a more in-depth understanding.
The course focuses on the essential skills needed to use Computer Aided Design software. You will learn how an object is designed in 2D and how objects can be manufactured.
The course covers:
- Creating and saving drawings
- Co-ordinate entry, Display controls
- Simple dimensioning
- Cross hatching
- Plotting and printing
- Blocks and attributes
- Drawing in isometric
- Creating drawings with multiple scaled views
Entry requirements
A good level of computer literacy is required. Candidates competing the intensive course must possess a basic understanding of AutoCAD. The course is suitable for those with an understanding of working drawings, drawing practices and standards within their industry, but with limited experience of 2D Computer Aided Design.
